How often do we feel secure

                      in faith and its belief;

Even when we suffer pain

                       misery and grief;

Seek consolation in the way

                        of finding some relief.

Faith in ourselves alone,

                          in what we rightly do,

Helps us tackle, one by one,

                           problems, old and new,

Problems that are part of life,

                            we faithfully get through.

Implicit faith in God above

                              our mortal weakness here,

As we must seek his healing love

                                blunts the edge of fear,

And by His compass safely move

                                  toward horizons clear.

While we cross the paths we choose,

                                  we may not, in effect,

Know exactly where we stand

                                    and what we may expect,

Even when we feel so sure,

                                     alert and circumspect,

The steps we take with confidence,

                                      when everything seems bright,

Must still be firmly reinforced

                                        that we may expedite

Success through faith consistently

                                          and do what’s really right!
