About a girl scared to be what she wants because of what people will think.
She sits in the corner
Is quiet in class
And tends to walk alone
She talks with the wind
Pushing her back and fourth
On the swing while the others play ball
The leaves dance around her
She opens the box
Eyeing the ballerina
Noticing every flawless move
She gets up
Each jump, each position pile
She is filled with self-esteem and confidence
The curtain rises and the music plays
No longer wallowing in depression
No longer afraid of being in the spotlight
The elegant ballerina in the music box
Has grown
For she is the girl on the stage
Who’s matured
Into the beautiful girl in front of you
