A retelling of the Battle of Tours.

The Battle of Tours

The Moors come from distant lands,

For the lands of Christians, they have come

We shall not fall to Barbarians,

Driven back their conquest will be.

The Franks of noble birth

Fighting the Moors who come for land

Fighting for their hard earned Earth,

The Franks will fight to the death.

The realm of Christians must be preserved,

The Muslims shall fall like wheat!

The Christian knights must be unnerved,

To fight the threat upon their lands,

To fight the threat upon their lands.

Behold the Moors, below the hill!

The advantage of high ground has served us well,

To fight them back is God’s will,

To protect his people from their evil chill.

From their evil chill.

From Charles comes charge!

And from his men a shout of beasts!

Our force is large,

To defeat those who oppose.

The realm of Christians must be preserved,

The Muslims shall fall like wheat!

The Christian knights must be unnerved,

To fight the threat upon their lands,

To fight the threat upon their lands.

Their horses charge again and again,

Charles as their target,

But the men from Spain,

Won’t let their leader fall before them.

Time again the line is broken

By Moorish cavalry,

But the knights’ bodies are oaken

Never moving before for their might.

The realm of Christians must be preserved,

The Muslims shall fall like wheat!

The Christian knights must be unnerved,

To fight the threat upon their lands,

To fight the threat upon their lands.

Watch as they flee!

From our Christian wrath,

Be happy, feel glee!

We have preserved the lands.

We have preserved the lands.

Back again, they may come,

We shall be waiting!

But now we have beaten the scum!

Rest for our troubles.

Rest for our troubles.

The realm of Christians must be preserved,

The Muslims shall fall like wheat!

The Christian knights must be unnerved,

To fight the threat upon their lands,

To fight the threat upon their lands
