Poem.

water splashing, waves crashing, the sun setting, the calm landscape of the beach, always put me at ease, the water cleans and washes my problems away, take the cold and the gray. The orange and the pink illuminate the sky, water splashing into my eyes, why can’t everything be alright, instead of the cold feeling you get in the dead of night.

the breeze blows through my hair, I am forgetting my own cares, disappearing into thin air. If only things were this simple,
I would be free, I would be able to just be
me, as far as I can see, this is the way things are supposed to be, not matter what they say, this is my best day, and I wouldn’t let it ever go away, I want this day to stay
forever.

slowly, the sun goes down and the shadows show themselves and the waves are making a harmonious sound,
it’s time to leave, it’s time to go back to reality, the scarred, bruised reality I live everyday,
the cold, the dull, and the gray.

I get up to leave, and I take a look back, now the ocean is dark dark black,
the sand is soft between my feet,
time is ticking, and my heart is aching, going back to my dark world,
i am a lost trapped girl.

slowly, walking back, through the pitch black, scared of what might happen next,
I want to stay, but I have to go
until another day….

water splashing, sun setting, the landscape of the beach, puts me
at ease.
