A story-like romantic Renaissance poem.Sometimes when you least expect it,you can find love and that love can change everything you know.

He was going to have her
He was going to tame that girl
A wild spirit
She made heads whirl

Long brown hair
And deep green eyes
A beautiful body
She would disguise

She’d fight like a man
She’d never take a lord
Her mouth as vicious
As a steel blue sword

He had to have her
He was going to make her his bride
He didn’t care how long it took
But in her father he’d confide

He’d tell him
She was old enough to marry
21 now
If she didn’t soon do it
She’d turn into an old cow

Her father said
You’ll never get that girl into a gown
She always wore the pants of a man
Displeasing to some
It would make them frown

She had dreams
She wanted to fight
With the boys of castle
She would become a knight

She promised her hand
If he could win her in a duel
For no one could win her
She could be so cruel

He did not want to hurt her
He wanted to let her win
But not to have her as his wife
Would be such a sin

Twisting her arm
Behind her back
He put her over his shoulders
And said this is what you lack

The strength of a man
To make you whole
Now give me your hand woman
For my heart you have stole

Until he had did this
Her feelings  never changed
But gliding into her heart on a wing
Her emotions gave way
To a beautiful thing

So much for being a knight
She now wanted to look pretty
She dressed like a lady
Laying down her sword
So much for being a knight
She was now married to a lord

That evoked every memory of romantic shenanigans I ever came across before. Do some more like this. Makes me feel like Robin Hood. Where are you, maid Marian?

Very well written. That reminds me of Sir Galahad and what happens behind the round table.
