A poem about a unusually sized elephant.
The Big Elephant
There was a big elephant that lived near a small river.
But the thought of him being alone made him shiver.
He had to think of a way to escape his home.
So away from his small river did he roam.
Shaking legs and stretching his muscles,
and he found a city named “Brussels”
The streets were roaring with loud machines.
And very different unusual scenes.
He went into a tall building named “Mall”.
But it seemed to be very, very small.
He tried and tried,
to get inside
but then he had a great fall.
He got up with great ease.
But he had to really squeeze
he had to struggle
He had to juggle
To get back out with the trees.
He did not want to stay in this tiny city.
This was a very sad and very big pity.
But he went back to the river.
And had a very bad quiver.
So he had to take a really long nap.
And he heard a slight tap.
Then we awoke with a very funny ’snort’,
But his nap gave him support.
He gave a long sigh,
And he said Goodbye,
to his lovely town.
Then he turned around.
AND HE HAD A VERY GOOD TIME
