This is about a bird that flew into my job and the experience I had with it.

A bird flew in our warehouse…. it came in from outside.

Confused…afraid..embroilded…. it had no place to hide.

It flew from corner to corner…. it hit from wall to wall

the door, which it came, was open, but it never even saw.

Exhausted and bewildered…. it’s tiny wings did flap

It found itself a railing…and there it perched and sat…

Fear was deeply embedded, inside its little face.

fearful of the surroundings..that gathered in this place.

Continuously nervous… the bird could not sit still

for some ungodly reason…its emotions I could feel.

The feeling of entrapment….unable to be free

A bird flew in our warehouse…and its spirit flew through me.

I did my best to help it, to try and find its way

sometimes we all need guidance..to face another day

In trust it would not let me…. for trust is hard to gain

I felt all of its feelings…I knew all of it’s pain

I coaxed it off the railing…it fluttered to the floor.

I wanted it to see it…the brightness of the door

Still it did not notice…still it did not see,

This bird flew in our warehouse…I think to torment me.

It perched back on the railing…I guess there it felt safe

This time it did sit still and it look right in my face

“Bring out what you’ve been hiding..I felt it say to me

Be strong and put forth effort…then you too will be free….

Then in that exact instance…that bird it turned around..

It fluttered off the railing…feet never touched the ground…

It flew from corner to corner just like it did before..

Just like it knew the direction…it flew right out that door.

I watched it as it soared…. as it started home

I heard its little song in a peaceful graceful tone

Out of sight it faded…a chill went through my bone

A bird flew out of our warehouse…and left me there alone….

May your thoughts keep soaring like that little bird. This Nathette, reminds me of another Nat and another little bird. Nat King Cole’s “I see a little pretty bird sitting on the treetop..”
