A girl attempts to figure out the reason for her lack of feelings for a boy who has feelings for her.

It could be because I’m not attracted to you
and I’m sure your generic glasses could have seen that,
had you not replaced them with drunk goggles.
I guess your also unappealing ego will survive.
It could be because you’re too obvious.
Your mystery is your misery,
but the light on your lips from looking at me
won’t stop lurking
and my eyes are dragging like leashed dogs.
It could be because you’re different from me.
Because Korn and Techno is eclectic to you
as compared to my Beach boys and Dashboard.
Your Friday nights involve might fights
Between insecure rich boys who would swear
they have something to prove.
But my friends would prefer to mumble
with mouths full of Bubblemint Orbit
about how trivial life is, as we roam roads as empty as our wallets.
It could be because you’re younger
and your hands stutter awkwardly
whenever our fingertips accidentally touch.
Maybe it’s your age that makes you
more vulnerable to
falling through the cracks
of the situation in which
I can’t recall whether you even called me last night.
It could be because you’re a vampire
sucking every spare second I have in the day
with your meaningless messages,
leaving me light-headed.
And all you’re left with is the fact thatI can’t seem to make myself ever miss you.
And seeing you yesterday was at least half-accident.
Your obsession is your fragility,
And I gave up on breaking hearts back before it got cool.
It could be because you’re you
and who you are in relation to who he is
complicates everything
all because I am me.
So that probably makes this my fault.
