The note that tells her how it is.

I heard that you told your friends

You were gonna cut me loose

Cast me aside

Let me go

 —————————-

I didn’t believe all they told me

But now I see I should have

That’s funny darling

So, here’s a note

—————————-

It was never that good

I was tired long ago

Just trying to be nice

By staying around, so

My bags had been packed

Yeah, hidden behind the door

So don’t trouble yourself, honey

You won’t see me any more

—————————-

If I find out that you’re suffering

In a few days without me here

I might have compassion

I might

 —————————-

But, don’t expect to see me

Come knocking upon your door

I’ll feel bad for you

But love you?  No more

—————————-

See, it was all going downhill

From the first day we met

Sure we had a lot of fun

But, there’s a lot to forget

The way that you treated me

Those times with our friends

I knew then, at that time

That one day it would end

—————————-

So, remember

 —————————-

It was never that good

I was tired long ago

Just trying to be nice

By staying around, so

My bags had been packed

Yeah, hidden behind the door

So don’t trouble yourself, honey

You won’t see me any more

Wow, this is such a powerful poem with a “I knew it” attitude with a smidge of I am sorry too.
