A poem

Significant engineering
Man made construction
bridging the gap
The isthmus straddled
bringing us closer together
in more ways than one
Speeding up our lives
Saving time in traveling
Creating more traffic
Creating more delays
This is the road is in
This is the road out
This road is well traveled
Like the palm of your hand
No secrets under this bridge
No appreciation for it either
Just murky gripe water
Flowing from the mouths of
those who use it as a means of passage
Yet it is magnificent
When you ponder it
It has its own beauty
