Poem on men and women and the nightclub scene.
So you see me at the club
You think I’m sexy
You say you want to know me better,
But your eyes say you want to sex me
You ask me for my name
But it’s all part of the game
You see the way I dance
You dying to get in my pants.
You say the normal bullshit about romance.
Looking at me, but really looking through me
Already imagining how it would feel to do me
You’re getting hard, blood rushing from one head to another head
You’re saying whatever is necessary to get me in bed
Your mouth is saying you think I’m sweet
But mentally you’re hoping I’m some kinda freak
You buy me a drink trying to get me right
Wondering how much you got to spend before you can fuck me tonight
So, I see you at the club
I think, this brotha’s shit is tight
I wonder if you’re the one who will finally treat me right
I ignore you at first, just trying to maintain
But you continue to pursue so I engage in the game
You buy me one drink, two, then three
Suddenly all the bullshit you’re talking seems right to me
You whisper in my ear, “Can I take you home”
I hesitate a little, but I’m so tired of sleeping alone
I hesitate some more, true I’ve had a few drinks and I’m feeling really nice
But I wonder, is it too soon to break you off a slice?
The club scene is no joke
You came for your reasons, I came for mine
Man and woman getting caught up time after time
One looking for love, the other an ease for their lust
Getting physical before establishing friendship and trust
