Letters come from

Give them

Out.

Aphrodite

I am the goddess of love.

Born from the foams of waves.

And my father was killed.

On the water, his body fell.

Bloody, and dead.

Quickly, I rose from the waves.

Oh, and how I am beautiful.

Hera

Hera is god-queen.

Sister and wife of the king.

Greek gods respect her.

Arachne and Athena

Young Arachne, famous for her purple dye.

She praised herself

I’m the greatest weaver in all the land

I weave better than Athena herself.

I can make cloaks lighter than clouds, and warmer than fur.

Athena heard.

She came to the village.

Saying you arrogant child!

I am the goddess you mocked!

We will have a weaving contest

If you lose it’s your life that shall pay.

Arachne lost, and walked away.

She hung herself.

When Athena came, Arachne’s face was black as midnight.

Athena touched Arachne.

Arachne’s face started shrinking, and she became a creature

Small, hairy, with many legs.

And thus, the first spider was born.

Ares

Evil doer,

War bringer,

Death lover,

Wolfhound master,

Bloodshedder, Heart ripper,

Ares

Hades

Feared, destructive

Tortures, kills, kidnaps

Spirits haunt his kindom.

Enraged, evil

Death.

She kills people.

I’m the son of Zeus.

She’s the daughter of Zeus.

I have a golden bow.

She has a silver bow.

I have golden arrows.

She has silver arrows.

I am a hunter.

She is a huntress.

Apollo.

Artemis.

The Little Lizard Boy

It wasn’t my fault that I laughed at Demeter.

I just hadn’t seen an adult cry before,

And thought it was funny.

But then she just HAD to go

And turn me into a lizard..

Even worse, she brought that hawk down to eat me!

I don’t think that was justified.

Anyway, I got my revenge.

I will tell you how.

I managed to get into the Underworld.

And became the assistant gardener for Persephone,

Demeter’s daughter.

Boy, I had my chance,

And I took it!

Persephone had refused to eat anything in the Underworld,

Because she wanted to go back to her mother.

But I got her!

I was eating her favorite fruit,

A pomegranate.

And persuaded her to have some.

“No one will know,” I said.

“No one’s here!”

She ate six seeds,

And went back to Hades.

Hermes had come to bring her back to Zeus,

And she was halfway into the sky,

When I got to Hades.

I showed him the six missing seeds,

And he went to Zeus to plead his case.

Zeus judged that Persephone had to stay with Hades for six months every year.

All because of me.

No wonder I laughed.

Boy oh boy, I TOLD you I got my revenge on Demeter.

She never even saw it coming.

The poor little lizard boy, come to cause her

Eternal misery.

She didn’t know what hit her.

And why her daughter had to stay with Hades,

Until Zeus told her.

And I was thinking,

All because of me.
