A humorous view of the creation of the universe.
A particle of matter was gently cruising through the void at a little under the speed of light. On the
whole it was a well adjusted, reasonably happy and content little atom. It travelled a straight line from
where it had been, to where it was going. Having no needs, neither hunger, nor procreative urges, it
swam through the void merely passing time. As it was calculating vectors and velocities to while away
the nanoseconds, it noticed another particle heading towards a spot it would soon occupy. As it neared
that spot it realised the other particle was actually on a collision course. Further study also revealed it to
be a particle of antimatter. In the fraction of a nanosecond before the impact, the particle became a
very scared and unhappy atom which theorists have claimed is the reason for all the misery in the
ensuing universe!
