The Creeper.

Green is his face, thin is his skin.

In and out of homes he slips whenever he gets the whim.

Slipping silently through the lair

so quietly no one knows that he is there.

Everyone is sleeping, dreaming, without a single care.

Nothing he disturbs, this he does not dare.

He seeks the only person whom does not judge him.

He considered this small child his one and only friend.

Caring he was in manners and when at play.

Friendly he was whether it was night or day.

For years he had searched knowing that there would be no end.

No rest for him, the weary, until he found his only friend.

All others found him hideous and frightened they were of he.

Which left him wondering around with no  particular place to be.

He looked in all of the rooms, until he found what he was looking for.

Then he realized that his friend was not so small anymore.

Grown up he was, with a family of his own.

He had a wife, children, and a very beautiful home.

He stood in the doorway, the only noise was a low groan

to let his grown friend know that he was not alone.

His friend opened his eyes and looked at the door

and saw someone he thought that he would not see anymore.

His friend, The Creeper, had found him at last

and was looking for acceptance that he was hoping would last.

His wife awoke and started to scream

at the monster in the doorway who was a hideous shade of green.

He husband calmed her down and explained who he was

it was his best friend when he was younger, and that was enough

for his wife to see

that The Creeper was not whom she had judged him to be.

His intentions were always for the best and children he graciously cared for.

He was given consideration and kindness, something he had never had before.

A gentle monster he was for not one man, woman, or child he could hurt.

They agreed to let The Creeper stay for his intentions were wholly pure.

So there, in that home, The Creeper was allowed to stay.

A family he finally had for the rest of his days.
