The cross a symbol of much suffering

in the Christian faith is told.

When it is written Jesus died to save us

where centuries on his life.

Is still celebrated especially in December

his birth at Christmas we remember.

A time associated with peace and goodwill

a cessation of hostilities.

In a world that is filled with hate and confusion

when gifts are exchanged.

And a spirit of brotherly love to us all

on deaf ears to often fall!

It should not be a time of material gain

where few have no limit.

Money an easy to get endless commodity

for most is a precious rarity!

Sacrificing what little they have to share

they do their best to care!

Christmas a symbol the tree and Santa clause

a myth to unite the family.

Persuasion to put the gun down for awhile

but too many divisions stop the dream.

Symbols of depression let us see more of joy

for Christians god sent a boy!

If the fighting and hatred can’t be stopped forever

a dialogue has to start to bring people together!
