Poem about the exicement and preperation of going on a date.
Excitement fills the air
As I prepare for us to meet
My getting ready ritual planned
Every detail timed and complete
~
First I run my bath
Adding the sweetest smelling foam
Then I pour a glass of wine
And my thoughts begin to roam
~
Next a love CD
To play and sing to as I lay and bathe
And attend to the shaving necessary
So embarrassment later I will save
~
Next I wash my hair
Adding extra oils to make it shine
Once this is complete, I check my watch
To find my beauty session is running on time
~
Finally all pampered and clean
I emerge from the bathroom and start
To apply my make up very carefully
As I really must look the part
~
Next another glass of wine
So I’m nicely in the mood
Next my matching naughty underwear
I hope it’s not too rude
~
Once more I check my watch for time
Smile and take a seat
As I start to file and paint my fingernails
I decide it’s best I also paint my feet.
~
Whilst my nail polish is drying
I pour myself another glass of wine
This time also lighting a cigarette
And then another check on the time
~
Finally I put on my new outfit
A simple dress to hug my shape
Impressed with my mirror reflection
Deciding I look perfect for my date
~
Finally I add the shoes and bag
And begin to realize I feel a little queer
Too much wine whilst getting ready
Then the doorbell rings and he’s here
