A dedication to the late Michael Jackson and how his passing will forever change music.
The Day the Music Stopped – Susan Varo – 6/25/2009
Today is the day
The day the music stopped
You have left us all
You have left us King of Pop
We’ve all been there
Through your trials and strife
Everyone’s still here
At the end of your life
We can’t hear the music
Are you singing out of range
And there’s something we haven’t heard before
There’s just silence and it’s all so strange
Were you left all alone
Did you need a helping hand
As we try to piece it all together
Did you leave a broken man
Your world has stopped spinning
We couldn’t have the last dance
Perhaps when we see what you left behind
Perhaps we’ll have the chance
You’re away now no worries
Maybe now there’s love and peace
Away from the media circus
For right now, right now at least
You will reign well into the future
No one else will be on top
From today this very day
The day the music stopped
