The daydreamer’s tale.
Small boy walking in the cornfields
Living his own dream
Suddenly he is ten years older
And nothing of his dream world left to see
Welcome to the real world, little boy
Knights and castles are doomed to die
The lonely daydreamer am I
Faeries and dragons ought to be free
Stop killing the child in me
Put away the map of your own world
Destroy the book of dreams
Close your eyes for the rearing unicorn
And stop hiding in your fairytales
Welcome to this real Earth, young man
Knights and castles are doomed to die
The lonely daydreamer am I
Faeries and dragons cannot be free
You killed the child in me
Pick up the shining sword of duty
Let the moon guide you
To a foreign country away from home
And in war you shall be the fallen one
Welcome to the final truth, my son
Knights and castles are doomed to die
The lonely daydreamer was I
Faeries and dragons they are not free
You killed that child
(on the battlefield)
