The 5th 100 poems in a 100 days poem. I was an anthropology major in college. It was fun to write an anthropological poem.

Thanks to The Real Tomb Hunters: Snakes, Curses, and Booby traps on the History Channel for inspiring this poem and providing the quote at the end of it)

Collectors ogle tomb based treasures
long buried and unearthed for science’s sake,
Improvised individuals sometimes sell off
ancestors’ entombed processions
to feed, educate, shelter selves and/or progeny
to bidders wanting “a chunk of someone else’s
heritage in their living room.”
