I got my final grades for the quarter and saw I’d made the Dean’s List – which means I’ve got a pretty high GPA.  As I sat there with my cell phone in my hand I realized I had nobody to tell.  This is what would have happened if I did:

God gave me the chance
to go back to school
I’m doing my best;
Today I found out
I made the Dean’s List.

I told my partner
and he was happy;
he gave me a kiss
and let me control
the TV remote.

I told my mother
and she jumped around
crying tears of joy
and reminded me
she’s my biggest fan.

When I told my dad
he hugged me and said
he was very proud
and he always knew
I would do great things.

Then we got dressed up
and went out to eat
as a family;
It’s not every day
Mom makes the Dean’s List…

They love me so much.
