A satiric poem about tax day.

The Devil in Costume

January, February, March

The dreaded month is here

To count the days till you

Meet with the Death or Fear.

The day will make you think

Of how you did last year,

For penny after penny

Your income is now fear.

Will you receive or will you bleed

Green blood out of your pockets,

For Uncle Sam, maybe is Satan

The devil in your pockets.

April 14, the time is near,

When once again

Your faith awaits

To pay the tax you fear.

Wait, it’s January; but I know what you mean. When I’m getting money back I don’t mind at all. It’s just a matter of going through the process.

Yes in deed Marie Antoinette, its that time of year again as you have penned the process perfectly. I really like the picture you have selected to go with this composure as its perfect. Thank You once again for sharing your wonderful words of poetry with us all…

The devil’s in the details, so they say. Everyone will get less back this year because part of the economic stimulus package was to take less withholding each paycheck. Pay me now or pay me later.

I have a feeling I will be paying in this year.

It doesn’t work quite like that here in UK, but I think the devil designed the tax return forms.

Things are a bit different here in UK, but I think the devil designed our tax return forms!
