Discombobulation surrounds us. It may even define us. Accept it, embrace it, fall in love with it.
A mental contradiction
If one I ever did see
Of thought provoking twists and turns
That put you through a loop-ta-loop
Only to meet up with a whirl wind of emotion
And then a peaceful calm like after a rainstorm
Befuddled thoughts
And emotions unclear
Conversations about feelings held dear
A mental Rubik’s cube
So hard to figure out
But so intriguing a puzzle
So anxious to solve
Confusion so attractive
Makes you willing to evolve
Into just the right thing
In order to be
The solver of that unsolved mystery
Our feelings constantly contradicting our words
Expecting you to read
And decipher
And understand
Without a hint
And all the while staying behind our tint
Never revealing our deepest thoughts
Never revealing our truest feelings
For fear you may not be as ready and willing
As a man needs to be
To combat this walking contradiction
This unclear apparition
This clutter of ambiguity
A spoken word
But opposite of what is felt
A deliberate action
But opposite of what should really be done
Keeping the peace
By holding it tight
And in the darker crying with all our might
Keeping that smile
And that tight embrace
Keeping it together
With pristine style and grace
Saying yes when we really mean no
And never wanting our true feelings to show
Trying to stay in control
All the while feeling anxious
Not wanting to lose hold
That firm grip on reality
And bring to your world our mental insanity
A swarm of mental mayhem
With the ability
The audacity
The outright temerity
To consume you
To overtake you
To make or even break you
But in the same instance
Love you
And love hard
As if the world were about to end
And to the world your name defend
A picture of strength
A façade of cool
Concealing the mind
Of a befuddled fool
Not to misunderstand
We still hold our own
But take a chance
In calling us your own
Having stepped to the challenge
Of conquering an unsolvable mystery
The discombobulated mind
Of the female creation
Should always be held with the highest esteem
By he who takes hold of this ultimate challenge
Will in that day be called king
Having the forethought
To be the net
You need to break your fall
To be the shoulder you need
When the tears start to fall
To be the silent listener
When a hearing ear is what you crave
The strongest backbone you need to be brave
An even softer cushion
Where you lay your head at night
A soothing embrace to ward off fear and fright
The inner workings of the female mind
A discombobulated array
Of thought provoking concepts and theories
A plethora of feelings and emotions
Embodied in the most beautiful of creations
Motivated by love
Powered by love
And a desire to please
The one encompassing her gifts
Her mind
Her knowledge
Her ability to grow
And metamorphose into all that we know
Is true
Is fair
So handle with care
This contradiction
This mass of ambiguity
With love
And more love
Combined with patience
And more patience
And even more patience
