The choices we make shape our destiny,they decide how our story is told to humanity.

In the journey of life,
I find myself standing
at yet another crossroads.
The road which I had last taken
had flattered only to deceive;
it,too,had promised me
the ultimate abode,
but,
it,too,has forsaken me
at the diverging roads!

Tired and disappointed,
I scornfully stare
at the scheming road.
Baffled and alarmed,
I begin to wonder,
whether there ever
will be a road
which will honour its word,
and,
which will lead me
to the elusive abode.

I ponder
apart from the ensuing joys
did the endeavour
fetch me any gain?
My companions were
only associates,
they must take the roads
their needs dictate.
Tangibles were much about
comforts and luxuries,
they were only a little better
than mere accessories.
I begin to wonder,
was I really compensated
for my pains,
or,
was the enterprise
all in vain?

The howling fear chides,
the intended journey
was no better than
incessant vagrancy!

The journey was long;
though,easy at times,
it was,often,hard.
I can not hurry,
I must reflect hard!

Oh!
The roads which I had taken
were my only friends all along.

I did not want to be lonely,
in general,I had played safe;
I had the vast sea of humanity
for company,
I had taken the bustling roads
which people generally take.

To quench my thirst for adventure,
sometimes,I had to take
the less travelled roads.
I discovered that
which people find difficult to endure!

Dwelling in the last abode,
when I will look back,
the roads which had lead to glory
will rejuvenate the soul;
the ones which had brought shame
will prickle like thorns!

They shall serve the legacy,
shaping the destiny of those
who are to follow in continuity.

My deeds may or may not resonate
in eternity,
but,
they shall constitute
the reminiscence of my existence;
they shall speak for me
when I am gone;
they will remind others of me
when I am done,
and truly gone!

Standing at yet another crossroads,
I stare at the diverging roads.
Speculating where each one takes,
I wonder which one I should take.
I must contemplate!
The roads which I had taken
have made me who I am;
the road which I take
will determine who I will be.

These roads are truly my destiny,
they decide,
how my story is told to humanity!
