On the light that shines down from heaven.

The divine light
flooded
across wide valleys
of dark despair
and steep mountains of strife;
creeping through
the deepest caverns
of frail humanity
and frayed mortality -
to seek out the lost and weary
and guide them back
to the illumined paths
of God’s grace
and righteousness -
that they may live
to reflect
the radiance of
the divine light.
