A poem I wrote out of a meaningful mix of frustration and self-awareness.

Dreams,

They’re all the same.

Pleasant fantasies becoming real.

Materializing hope,

Wishes,

Lies.

The water is calm,

Blanketed by the warmth of the sun.

The Birds sing in a chorus of nature and serenity.

Everything is right.

This is false security made in the depths of Hell.

Soon the downward spiral into the inferno begins,

And brings me to the painful,

Smiting abomination that is real life.

The birds’ songs are choked by the wicked cries of torment and agony,

Lush forests are burnt to the ground,

Just like the lives beneath them.

Smoke and ash fill the fogging air

As the world becomes clarity around me.

Plentiful fields warped and distorted into waste land lay before me.

The downward spiral

Turns to a sudden stop on the ground,

As I am fully awake to the truths of the world.

We wait for the light but behold darkness.

Isaiah 59:9
