I love watching the natural plants and animals. I like to imagine what they are going through, their struggles to survive.

Head of painted white silk, eyes of golden yellow

The wingspan of angels, he sits on a black rock

Watching for prey, the backdrop, the blue sky

Swooping, then hovering, suddenly, a short fast dive

Onto an unsuspecting animal

Picks it up and takes it back to the rock

With a short blow, the animal sleeps

Pecking at a meal well hunted

Loved the form of this – quite abrupt but it flowed well. Almost reminiscent of flapping wings followed by a glide..or maybe that’s just me. At any rate an excellent poem, although anything which has imagery involving angels has me hooked of course. Well done, and thanks for your comment on my own poem.

    All the best,
