The actions we take sometimes result in undesirable outcomes.

There were no signs of plants or beasts.

No sign of life was seen or heard

No motion or movement what so ever

A definition of the empty pond

No trees or brush lived near the shore

No fish swam beneath the current flows

Only a cold wind blew across the land

An empty pond was all that stands.

Just cold hard steel

Nothing soft to feel its growth

We stop all that was good with no room to heal

The empty pond was the result

I see it ahead

Yet know not what to say

Listen if you may

The empty pond will come one day

The fish that once swam through the water

The animals that once drank from the shore

What can be said for our action?

Now there is an empty pond; there is no future

I love how you tied in nature to this poem. Your imagery is divine.

If we accept what Darwin wrote about evolution, there will always be some form of life adaptation. Sadly, I seriously doubt it will resemble present human form.
