A tribute to a very close friend who was a principal and educator for 33 years.

People are judged by the lives they influence every single day,
they never seem to realize the impact they’ve made along the way.
When it comes to the end of an era, and its time to ease on out,
all the good times and the memories start to leave a little doubt.
If you could do it all over again, what changes would you make,
the differences between right and wrong, might sometimes be at stake.
We all must stand accountable for our actions in this life,
each day is filled with challenges that can cause us sorrow and strife.
How we are remembered is important to us all,
the end of an era is never easy when that person stands so tall.
So take a bow before you exit, your work here is complete,
things you’ve accomplished and lives you’ve touched, combined is quite a feat.

Lovely sentiments and the meter seems to be right on. I might correct the typo in the last line so that “quiet” is “quite”.

A timeless treasure of truth to the effects we have upon others in our lives. A wonderful sharing tribute you have going on here and poetic justice served as well. A touching read and one we all can learn from. My teachers and principals in school were my inspirations that paved my way in life. A true talent of sharing kindness at it’s finest. Thank you for sharing.
