Humorous poem about a doomed turkey.
Image via Wikipedia
Farmer Bill looked at his turkeys.
“One of you will do nicely on my plate.”
The poor turkeys looked alarmed
Worried about their fate.
Simon Turkey was the bravest bird.
He had no fears at all.
“I dare you to take me,” said Simon.
“You haven’t got the balls.”
Farmer Bill was angry.
Farmer Bill was upset.
“How dare you talk to me,” said Bill.
“You’ll soon learn that you’ll regret.”
Farmer Bill picked up brave Simon.
He took him to the chopping block.
“Now I’m going to chop you up,
And eat you for my sup.”
“Go ahead you worthless man.
I’m not afraid of you.
I don’t think you have the guts to do this.
I know that this is true”
But Farmer Bill wheeled his ax,
He swung it with great force.
Poor Simon misjudged Farmer Bill,
And became Bill’s second course.
