A poem – the last poem in my poetry book, "Napkin Poetry". Read this one out loud – it’s fun!

My words
Have been heard,
For once
Not ignored….
Relieved,
Not deceived,
Invited
To believe
That my soul
Is still whole….

As fractured
As it seemed.
Has my love
Been redeemed,
Or is this
Just a dream?

Confusion
And fear,
All dwell here
….

Whispered softly
In our ears
And adding fuel
To our tears,
Only to
Discover
No one
Will recover
Once their soul
Has a hole,
And their heart
Falls apart
In such an
Agonizing
….
Lack of speed.

What, then, exactly
Do we need
To succeed
In endeavors
Of the heart,
Mind,
And soul?
Is the hole
Really there,
Does it matter
If you care?

If your answer
Is yes,
Please confess…
And profess
Your true self,
Whether ill
Or in good health,
Every heart
Has its moment
….
Loneliness
Can make a mess
Of tidiness.

No matter how OCD
We may be,
Everyone,
Including me,
Has their needs
That need meeting,
Never ceasing
The quest
To finally
Find what is best,
Deeming all the rest
Meaningless.

Will anyone
Under the sun
Ever stop
Searching
Once they have
Begun?
Will these poor
Nomadic souls
Find their place,
Though never whole?

Forever wandering around,
If you are lost, can you be found?
Will you eventually stand on the ground?
Or does everyone
Keep falling down???

When you feel
Like you belong,
Please let me know,
So I can come.
