A poem that I wrote when my first son was very small.

A face in the window, I did see

Peering in to look at me

The face did not know that I

Had noticed him, a cute little guy

Standing on tiptoe to look inside

His twinking eyes danced with pride

For the one he loved so much

Was in the house making his lunch

I smiled at the thought of this boy

Who so filled my heart with joy

Watching me from the porch window

This little face that I loved so

The face in the window, is my son

My precious boy, my only one

I waved at him and then he knew

That I had been watchng him, too

He laughed and ran quickly to the door

A little face in the window, no more

A little boy giggling with delilght

Now hugging Mommy with all his might
