She was charming and famous, yet too weak to resist the temptation of substance abuse. Her celebrity status couldn’t save her from ruination. All that she once possessed had sadly melted away like the winter snow.

In a place of renown, one well spoken of,

In a spotlight of fame, reigned a goddess of love,

Who freely exuded a charm that alluded

To starlight directed from heaven above.

But dark clouds assailed her heaven so blue

With lingering gloom, as her bright sun withdrew;

She couldn’t even cry, her tears were dry;

Where were her worshippers once she knew?

It was far too late to return to the time

When her status, indeed, seemed so sublime!

Which proves that even one so celebrated

Could lose her dignity once overrated.
