Budget impass is at hand.

Government may shut down.

Then we’ll all shout at once.

“Time to bring in the clowns.”

If the government closes up shop,

The economy will face new ills.

And a collective holler will be heard,

“Get serious and pay the bills.”

Regulations will take a vacation.

Checks will not go out.

And other countries will look at us saying,

“What in this world is this about?”

Republicans and Democrats will blame each other.

Meanwhile, our nation will truly suffer.

So get on the ball and extend the budget.

At least for a temporary buffer.
