Does anyone have a helpless friend?

I saw you heading southbound
Down the wrong side of the street
I feared for all around us
And what your car would meet
You barrel down the highway
A fist full of your sorrows
Passing by your empty house
And all the lost tomorrows
The clouds began to brewing
Something horrid for the night
A thing that I can’t mention
A moment void of light
The hand which used to guide you
Has let go of its grip
And now you seek your fate
As you make your final slip

This part is vivid to the point of exploding:

    “The clouds began to brewing
    Something horrid for the night
    A thing that I can’t mention
    A moment void of light”

The last two lines clinched it with great effect.

May your pen always be light.
