The fire

The fire is burning,
It rages on,
The fire is relentless,
It cannot be stopped.

The fire spreads,
Through the forests,
Through the towns.

The fire comes down,
Unto the people,
Striking fear,
Into their eyes.

The fire causes pain,
It forges suffering,
The fire is coming,
So you had better run.

The fire draws near,
Creeping and crawling,
The fire is here,
Feel the burn.

This fire,
Cannot be put out,
Not with water,
Nor with foam.

Because this fire,
Cannot be seen,
This fire is in all of us,
It makes you angry.

You are cruel,
You are mean,
You will destroy,
You will kill.

It is not your fault…
Your only human,
This fire,
Is human nature.
