Bondage was no more, and all of heaven opened wide.
All was lost
With no hope to be found.
Sin was freedom’s cost,
The world cast down.
Held captive by condemned hearts,
Chained by darkness’ imprisonment.
Setting souls apart
From God and the goodness He meant.
Filled with compassion in His Spirit,
He provided a way to set His people free.
Of sin, He wouldn’t hear it,
So He sent Jesus His Son to redeem.
Bondage was no more,
And all of heaven opened wide
As the veil was torn,
The earth had communion with God on High.
Today His people fight
So we will remain free to celebrate,
And worship our Lord Jesus Christ,
As in prayer, opened are the floodgates.
With hearts humbled and heads bowed,
We offer our thanks
To the soldiers who enable us to praise God aloud
Because of the first Independence Day.
