Babies.

The first time that I saw you,
So tiny and so new.
I fell in love immediately,
with a love i’ve never knew.
~
They laid you in my arms,
You cuddled with no fear.
I could feel your trust in me,
I whispered “I Love You” in your ear.
~
I counted all your fingers,
I counted all your toes.
I checked out your tiny body,
I kissed your little nose.
~
To me you were so perfect,
You where whole without a flaw.
I held you fragilely in my arms,
Just like a china doll.
~
The first time that I took you home,
My heart was full of fear.
Every time you’d make a sound,
I’d pick you up and hold you near.
~
Now the years have passed,
As I look into her eyes.
I hold my grand child close to me,
It’s just like the very first time.

Great pic, fantastic poem. It reminded me of the first time I met my son, so you took the words right out of my mouth, so to speak! Good work!!
