In tribute to 9/11, and all those we have lost in the subsequent wars that have since ensued.
A lone flag flies on a charred hill
It flies long and alone, for all to take hold
The red and the white, a beauty but to see
Mixes with the blue stars of thee
It is a great sign of our great tragic loss
For the ones we remember who fell in the September moss
But the flag rises high, above the steel and the dust
A reminder for all we fought for in the tragedy of the now bent rust
The flag it is strong, and makes us so proud
To remember those Americans who have all given their lives
Proud of we are those beautiful stars and stripes
They are in our minds when we are lost in sadness and fright
No matter the cases of the great loss and despair
The flag still flies high, and reminds us we still care
We will never forget, nor should we ever
For the ones who unjustly died, and we lost forever
But they are not lost, as our prayers are for them
They may be gone, but we will always remember the purpose they gave
For the flag still remains
