Joe has that look of disgust on his face as he comes wandering up,

plops his rear end next to me on the tailgate of my truck.

” You had to go a chasing that darn songwriting dream of yours

and now you got folks poking their nose right into your cotton drawers”

How long do you think it will be before everyone knows you drink

and what if they find out what you and whats her name did last Spring?

I just wanted to write some songs that everyone would like,

didn’t intend on making any news or ruining any lives.

I never said I was an angel, clean by no means at all,

just write a few things down and turn it into a song.

Joe walked away without finishing his beer, that had to  be the first,

I went to take a leak by my truck and darn if a flash bulb didn’t burst.
