This poem is about when a Nation is at the top of it’s Best, when gifted people can leave their mark for the civilization, thereby making it into all it would never be without their wonderful contributions! Written By E.B. Wilkes.

The Golden Age

once took the stage;

It was the most flourishing period in a Nation.

America was once Golden too,

but now this once Great Nation

has fallen into disengage,

thereby faltering against the Minds of the literary

and the painters and sculptors

and great thinkers that

gave America and the world their gifts.

America is in a position to extinguish the gifts

of the talented that presently exist.

We are entering a dark period

that may linger or even likely last.

But the greatness of the talented with their gifts

will not be buried away.

The Golden Age

is and was the best of the four stages

of Humankind, but every stage is over

after the final curtain falls.

Every Golden Age

ultimately yields

first to the Silver Age of “Retirement”

then to the darkness

of eminent death.

Don’t fret

it is not over yet

because Humankind

will once again come alive,

in a different time!
