A Poem.
The Frosty Forest Glade
Frostily waits the forest
White glistens the dewy shade
As sunlight dapples the tree stems
In this frosty glade
Soft feathers huddled closely
as in their nest unstirred
waiting for the springtime
the myriad forest birds
There, deep in hibernation
Mice, squirrels, ferrets, voles
slumber away the winter
in subterranean holes.
The deer and foxes, badgers
wander aimlessly round
In painful winter hunger
No food there to be found.
And man the interloper
Comes to this bare Idyll
Warm in his fur lined Jacket
Seeking prey to kill.
Not to stave off hunger
food for family or friends
No just a way to while away
Yet another boring weekend.
