This is about a little girl who was murdered in this area by her mother and step-father back when I was about eleven years old. I never knew her. I don’t know her face but she touched my heart back then and inspite the time that has past she has never left my thoughts. I hope she found peace in heaven.

My eyes have never seen you,

Our paths have never crossed,

I would have never known about you if not for the news that comes on at six o’clock.

My heart ached for you as I learned about your death,

My tears fell for you when I learned about the hard life you had lived,

A little girl who smiled inspite the pain she use to feel.

She danced with her childish grace,

She smiled inspite all the pain those who were suppose to protect her gave,

A spirit who couldn’t be silenced,

Even in her death.

She touched my heart so deeply,

Even though I was still a child myself,

This little girl I never knew grabbed a hold of me and has yet to let go.

What a horrible situation it is for a child to become a victim at the hands of the caregiver. That was a difficult memory to have as a child and remember as an adult, lets all work together to expose abuse when we know it exist so another doesn’t lose a life.
