A humorous look at Al Gore in poetic verse.
Al Gore’s campaign was full of story-tales,
His half-truths were beyond recognition.
Creator of the Internet, himself he hailed,
The praises rang with each News edition.
As Election Day drew nearer, Gore’s plan was clear.
“I want the Presidency, I’ll do what ever it takes.”
His plan would have George Bush’s name smeared,
Even Dredging up 25-year-old mistakes.
But Bush was planted in the light of truth,
Never denying the sins he committed.
Mistakes, once made in the flagrancy of youth,
Repentant, he quietly admitted.
Well, Gore pumped up his political ammunition,
Never minding the dirty tallies in his haste.
Shooting in the dark in his democratic position,
The chad-full ballots blew up in his face.
Now when the smoke all cleared, Bush wasn’t burned
But was planted firmly by the river of life.
The fruits of his labor God has confirmed
As he stood tall through Gore’s smoke screen of strife.
Florida’s Secretary of State did her duty in spite of it all.
Catherine Harris certified the vote as counted.
Little did she know who she would be called?
Cruella Deville, Gore’s camp had her touted.
The Judges and officials have all done their best
To make this presidential race run smooth,
But America’s patience is put to the test
As Gore’s team of lawyers brings yet another suit.
Well, little Al Gore’s screaming “It’s not fair”
Let’s count and recount some more.
No other election result quite compares
To the mighty tantrum cries of the famed Al Gore.
I know the presidency you would like to take,
But, Mr. Gore all your schemes have failed.
So please, Mr. Gore, for Heaven’s sake,
Spare us these Gory details.
