Poem to my ex-lover.

You say that you don’t want to date,

until you children are grown.

I know that simply can’t be true,

no one wants, to be alone.

So go ahead, look around,

search for something new.

You’ll obviously never see,

what you could have,

that’s right in front of you.

So if you think the grass is greener,

on the other side.

Go ahead, look around,

I’ve got nothing to hide.

I know that I’m better then most,

and would love you like no other,

but finally, I must admit to myself,

you must not want me for your lover.

You make up excuse after excuse,

of why you can not date,

so full of lies, are all your words,

I wish that I could hate.

But you I could never hate,

because I still love you so,

but if you think,

the grass is greener on the other side,

I should just let you go.

Miss A… seems a common troubled trait…people always looking for something greener but never quite finding it and not realizing what has been left behind until it is too late.
Of course I voted that I like it because it is something written straight from the heart.

beautifully crafted and a pleasure to read, altho the theme itself is a little sad…i can understand your feelings expressed in this piece, and the reader is dragged into it easily…well done.

The grass too often looks greener on the other side. But people shouldn’t fool themselves, once they are living on that greener grass, their own imperfections and faults will begin to dry it up and suddenly there will be another patch of grass that looks greener. Just stay at home and begin to fertilize and nurture the grass where you live. It is by far the easiest way to have new, fresh, green grass and be able to keep what you have already been nuturing. Insightful write.

Excellent piece with an unfortunate correct ending…let it go. Well done.
