Strictly Come Dancing started again last weekend. It was hailed as being the best one ever.

The Greatest Strictly Ever

The time’s arrived. I expectantly wait

The greatest ‘Strictly’ ever.

Dancers competing for the overall prize

With much training and constant endeavour .

At last their hard work will be put to the test

With an assemblage of beautiful dances,

The waltz, the quickstep and cha cha cha

A good performance increasing their chances.

Exquisite costumes, hairstyles and music

All add to the magic it holds.

Dreading the judges harsh comments

All part of the drama that slowly unfolds.

The professionals so fantastic to watch

Their routines a breathtaking sight,

Together with all the glamour and colour

Will make wonderful viewing tonight.

Christine

Nice lilting poem. One could almost do the boot scootin’ boogie to it. That’s a Yankee dance probably not performed during the Strictly.

Nice poem. I wish I were one of them dancing gracefully in front of the crowd. This was sure to be the best dancing ever! Cheers! Have my “liked it”.

It’s always nice to watch Strictly Come Dancing although I think I’m more of a Dancing on Ice person and your poem has the same striking charisma that the dancers on SCD do.

I have never heard of this competition but I do enjoy watching the ballroom competition we have here in the United States, espcially when they dance classic dances in the the elegant gowns that you show in the photo.

Dancing is always fun to watch, and sometimes poems can flow beautifully just like dancers do, and I think your poem has done just that, lovely poem (:

I enjoyed your critique of Strictly Come Dancing. I am not familiar with the show, but it does sound similar to Dancing With The Stars. I like how you wrote up your critique in review in poem form. Nice touch!

You know I love ballroom dancing. Aren’t the pros the greatest to watch, they made it seem so easy. My husband and I will be preforming a solo foxtrot in Nov for our winter show. You and I both know it is not easy. Great poem in my favorite subject.
