About the qualities of absinthe.
The green fairy takes my soul
Her bitter fragrance soothes my pain
Her clouded dreams release my woes
And makes life bearable again
Retreating from the tavern’s clamour
Wormwood tendrils spell a silent hush
Whilst pale emerald poison waits
For louching waters blush
Now bitter waters gratefully imbibed
Bleed warmth from misty chalice
At last released from worldly misery
And respite from lover’s malice
Green Goddess erupting from that cloud
Pours her silent scorn upon the hurt
Escape is set in heady aniseed
A testament to La Feé Verte
