Adept and sharp.

There are many angels who traverse from far and wide to magically enter our lives. They come cloaked in unfamiliar garments sometimes even unsuspecting disguise.

Thus, over the years, my eyes have timely sharpened. Learned well from the mighty hawk, who with precise talons, swoops high above and keeps his gaze fixed, meaningfully ahead.

The terrain changes in his sights from moment to moment. It rushes his senses; fine tunes anything he’s missed. For he knows, in a split second his enemies could rush into his life from the clear skies sudden-sent.

Because of wisdom, he spends his days, like a quiet monk; exercising his skill, carefully defending against all those who would try to break his steadfast will; who would attempt to steer him from his path and what’s undeniably true.

His mind focuses on survival and his nest. It’s the only thing that ultimately matters, it’s the only place where he can lay his weary head to finally, peacefully rest.

It’s a good, thought-provoking piece, but not so poetic as your other poetry is, I guess…

this is an excellent, well done on this one

  • Anne Lyken-Garner on Jun 2, 2008

MindIt,I don’t think this is intended to be poetic. It’s meant to be a thought about steadfastness (like a blog for the day) intended to invoke focus.

  • Anthony M. McDonald on Jun 2, 2008

WOW – excellent piece! So descriptive. Almost like a poem wherein your words invoke feeling but written like a piece of prose. Nice edge!!!

  • Ruby Hawk on Jun 2, 2008

The hawk is a beautiful bird but is vivious as nature intended it to be on any small animal and some not so small.

… Hi there, well my dear, this is
one great use of words, the analogy
is precise, and very profound. Your gift
    speaks for itself. Take care.
