A word mispoken, causing pain.

A word mispoken, causing pain

and I sit in sadness,

broken by the infliction,

unable to withdraw; comment

hanging in the air.

Taken aback, you have

pulled back the hand

extended in friendship

I am remorseful.

To say to you, I am sorry;

a weak and inadequate

statement.

Favor me with your

wondrous

acceptance; and I,

will strive for clarity

henceforth.

one can say no more that at time we have all said things that were not meant to be hurtful but we cannot feel what anothers emotions are at the time it was said – maybe they will understand that – good luck my friend

This is cute. Please do strive for her understanding.

Ah, the problem with this language, too many variables. Somebody come up with one where the meaning of ALL words are clear and I will be a happy poet.

We have all misspoken and said things that we wish we could unsay, but until someone invents a time machine we will have to use the old fashioned apology. Sometimes I get my kids to “rephrase” something that got the other angry. Our favourite word right now is ‘Misconstrued” as in “I misconstrued what you said.”

Alas, I simply laughed at something that, I found funny but was meant in earnestness. I have apologized. If she is as kind and intelligent as I believe she is, she will understand.
