War and what it brings with it.

Never again

Will the sun shine on my soul.

The truth sits waiting for me

On the horizon of my neverending memories.

My days were brilliant and pure

But now nothing awaits.

Over the days,

Memories remind me of the day.

The day that brought ache and sorrow,

The shadows close in around me.

Hell waits for what was taken from it.

Then as it began,

It ends.

The wheels touch down

And society fails to welcome back

One of its own,

Another lost soul returning from the edge of oblivion.

I believe that no one wins in a war. The soldiers are the ones most damaged emotionally and mentally. Our government sends them where they don’t want to go and do things they don’t want to do, and when they complete their mission they are pushed off to the gutter to fend for themselves. I grieve for you. Put your hope in the Lord. He understands all the miseries of this earth. Keep the faith and you will endure.
