Upon discovering a diary which belonged to a girl named Alice, we are thrown into the unique perspective of the world which revolves around her.

I had a horrible nightmare last night.

No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t get away from it.

It’s so real that it terrifies me to no end.

The sorrow and despair hits me like a thousand bricks.

I’m sure I must have cried & sobbed in my dream,

I must have thrashed around.

I awoke hugging my pillow too tightly,

My being, thoroughly shaken.

I had no idea what brought forward this nightmare,

But I finally understand the lives of orphaned children.

Having their parents stripped away from them in a stroke of twisted fate,

It’s like having your heart torn to pieces and fed to some hungry beasts.

The terror of hearing the news is unbelievable.

The nightmarish reality still haunts my soul.

It was so vivid, that it didn’t seem to be a dream.

It was almost like a premonition. A terrible one.

I woke up feeling disoriented & drained,

the horror, like acid, burning a hole in my heart.

I love my parents too much for this,

Please almighty one, spare them & take me instead.

i knew it was a dream, but the illusion was too realistic to forget, the emotions too strong to ignore…the pain too real to bypass…
